The Tarrant County Jail has been going through some upgrades lately. It is still not a good place to end up. This helpful guide is designed to help you get a few things in order before you end up incarcerated at the Tarrant County Jail.

One of the most important factors to cover is to have a good lawyer. Without a good criminal defense attorney, you will be left at the mercy of a public defender. This is not a good situation to be in as it is widely known that public defenders are always overloaded with other cases. They are more concerned about removing you from their case load. Please note that this is not their fault as the justice system is forced to put the load on their shoulders as it expands out of control. As much as attorneys cost these days they are worth every penny spent. A public defender will most likely offer you a plea deal and try to get you to take it, even if you didn't commit the crime you are being charged for. Most of these plea deals  involve no jail time but instead lengthy probation sentences. This may seem like a great deal in your current predicament, but if you are unfortunate enough to be charged in a future crime or break your probation in anyway, you could end up serving serious  jail time. Do yourself a favor and call some Tarrant County attorneys for some quotes.

You should also have a bail bondsman picked out in advance. All bail bonds do provides the same basic service but some will charge higher prices and be slow to post your bail. Your best bet is to do a little homework in advance and create a list of possible candidates. You can check out your local phone book or even check online for bail bonds in the Tarrant County area. Call a few of them up and get them to take you through the process. It's also a good idea to get a few estimates. Make sure to check online to see if they are with the Better Business Bureau or if there are any customer reviews.

In closing, always be polite to the arresting officer. Fighting or arguing with them will never improve your situation. When you are taken in for booking and processing make sure you cooperate with the staff and comply with their orders. Even if you are innocent, just remember to keep your head down until you are able to call your family or get your attorney and have your day in court.
